With July 4 falling on Monday, there are only a few fireworks shows on the actual 4th of July, but that means we also get some shows on the 2nd, and 3rd giving us some great opportunities to enjoy even more fireworks and some of our area communities. Check out the list.
The Miller County 4-H will host their first annual “Midnight Madness Heifer & Steer Show” at the Circle J Cowboy Church. Check-in on July 29 at 8 pm and the show begins at 12 am on July 30.

Three Texarkana men are in police custody after multiple reports of shots fired and the description of the car used led to a traffic stop. In that stop, police found marijuana, and 3 guns, including one that was reported stolen in 2020.
Texarkana Texas Police report that a recent arrest of a felony fugitive has garnered the suspect a total of 11 charges, and faces other charges in other states.

The Bowie County Sheriff’s Office reports that Billy John Scott, 50, of Maud Texas has been booked into the Bi-State Jail for the offense of Murder in the shooting death of his brother-in-law Larry Dewayne Kirby, 39, of Maud.
In Tuesday’s Miller County Primary Run-off election for Sheriff between Stephen Ward and Wayne Easley, final vote numbers indicate that with 1,816 votes to 1,265 votes, Wayne Easley is the new Sheriff of Miller County Arkansas.
Texarkana Texas Police report that Shaun Paxton, 42, is suspected of murdering his father, and seriously injuring his mother on Father’s Day has had a bond set at $1,000,000 for the death of Michael Paxton, 65, and $250,000 for the Aggravated Assualt on his mother, Debbie Paxton, 65.
