    The show must go on for the children of St.Jude’s according to Neal Jones, organizer of the Talimena Rally, one of the biggest annual motorcycle events in Texarkana. In the last 8 years, the ride has been able to raise more than $200,000. This year will have some restrictions, but the ride takes place this weekend.

SCA is a life-threatening emergency that occurs when the heart suddenly stops beating. It strikes people of all ages and leads to death in minutes if the person does not get help right away.

    5-15-2020 – Current COVID 19 Numbers for Texarkana Area

    The updated COVID 19 numbers for the Texarkana region are now Bowie County with a total of 112 positive COVID-19 cases, with 73 recoveries and 11 related deaths. Cass County has a total of 21 with 18 recovered. Miller County reports 40 positive cases, with 1 death and 35 recoveries.

    78-year-old Man Charged with Aggravated Robbery at Texarkana Walmart Store

    The Texarkana Texas Police Department reports that Ronnie Seymour, 78, has been arrested and charged with aggravated robbery after an incident at the Walmart Store located on New Boston Road in Texarkana. Seymour was taken into custody at the nearby Lowes store. No shots were fired.

    The Texarkana Texas Police Department reports that they are on the scene at the New Boston Road Super Walmart store after a man pulled a gun on employees in an effort to flee the store. Police have the suspect in custody and NO shots were fired.

    Traffic Stop Leads to Money Laundering Arrest

    Police in New Boston, Texas have arrested a man after a traffic stop and charged him with money laundering after K9 Officer Bentley alerted to the smell of narcotics in the vehicle. Police discovered and seized approximately $40,000. It is believed the money was being transported to the U.S./Mexico border area.

    Mobile COVID-19 and Antibody Testing Today on Stateline Avenue

    Lansdell Family Clinic in Texarkana is hosting another mobile COVID-19 testing site today, Wednesday, May 13 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Medical personnel will be doing both COVID-19 testing and antibody testing. Testing is taking place in the parking lot of Reggie’s Burgers at 3200 Stateline Avenue.
