Texarkana Area Fireworks Shows for the Fourth of July

By Jeff Easterling on June 23, 2020 City News, Entertainment, Events

Independence Day, the 4th of July, a celebration of American freedoms, and a big part of that have always been fireworks. There are usually a few great shows around our area, and we wanted to list a bunch of them together in one place.

“Sparks in the Park” has fizzled out at the Fairgrounds, after a few years of struggling. However, the fireworks show that the Texarkana Arkansas A&P Commission kicked in for will still happen, but will be done in downtown Texarkana, thanks to some last-minute scrambling by the multi-ministry faith-based group, “Texarkana United”. We sure hope Texarkana residents show some patience and understanding for this event… there will be problems. Watch from a distance.

Please do your best to watch any of the area fireworks displays with social distancing in mind. Lawn chairs, blankets… mosquito spray, and BE SAFE!

Texarkana Freedom Fest Rally 2020 – Plans still developing for downtown Texarkana.

Wake Village 4th of July Celebration – 7:00 PM with Fireworks at 9:00 PM

New Boston Freedom Fest – 6:00 PM with Fireworks at 9:00 PM

We will continue to add to this list as more folks are able to get their plans figured out, as, with everybody and everything, COVID 19 is something we all want to avoid so organizers are paying close attention to recommendations of local health authorities. Check back for updated information…

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
