Texarkana is in for a treat as Texas-born country artist Clay Hollis takes the stage at the Whiskey River Country Stage on Saturday, December 2nd, at 9:00 pm. Born in the Rio Grande Valley and raised in San Antonio, Hollis has carved his path in the country music scene, captivating audiences with his rich vocals and honky-tonk-driven sound.

Hollis’s musical journey began at a young age, growing up surrounded by the vibrant music culture of Texas. At just seventeen, he hit the road with Texas-country star Jon Wolfe, initially selling merchandise. It was during this tour that Hollis discovered his passion for music and the thrill of being on the road. Inspired, he embarked on his own journey, leaving Wolfe’s team to pursue his musical dreams.

In 2017, Clay Hollis made a significant mark with the release of his self-titled debut EP. With the assistance of Nashville hit writers like Bart Butler and Jon Pardi, Hollis achieved radio success with four top-ten singles: “Look Who’s Hurting Now,” “Hard Headed Heart,” “Can’t Let a Good Thing Get Away,” and “Strait to Jones.” Armed with his guitar and a few radio singles, Hollis hit the honky-tonk circuit across Texas, winning over fans with his authentic sound.

In 2020, Hollis continued to showcase his musical prowess with “Honkytonk Highway,” a robust 6-track EP blending slow burners like “Ask Me Again” with upbeat tracks like “Here I Go Again.” Drawing inspiration from ’90s country foundations, Hollis infuses a modern country sound that resonates with fans of all ages.

Now, at the pinnacle of his career, Clay Hollis has released his first full-length album, “No Apologies.” The 11-song collection, featuring eight co-written by Hollis, delves into his personal life story, offering listeners a glimpse into the heart and soul of the artist.

Having shared the stage with country music mainstays like Randall King and Kevin Fowler, Clay Hollis is set to bring his electrifying performance to the Whiskey River Country Stage in Texarkana. Fans can expect an unforgettable night filled with soulful tunes and honky-tonk vibes.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
