A 69-year-old registered sex offender was arrested this morning after an investigation uncovered hundreds of files of suspected child pornography uploaded to a Google Drive account traced to Texarkana.
According to the Texarkana Texas Police Department (TTPD), the investigation began in late December 2024, when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) alerted authorities to a report from Google. The tech company flagged over 800 files of suspected child pornography uploaded using an IP address linked to the area.
Detective Casey Schmidt took charge of the investigation and identified the account as belonging to Kenneth Davenport, a registered sex offender. Armed with a search warrant, officers raided Davenport’s home this morning, seizing multiple electronic devices. He was taken into custody and charged with Possession of Child Pornography.
Davenport is currently being held at the Bi-State Jail, and as of now, his bond has not been set.
TTPD expressed gratitude to NCMEC, Google, and the National Center for Missing and Endangered, Inc. for their vigilance in identifying and reporting this activity. “Together, we can continue working to protect our children and hold offenders accountable,” the department stated.
The investigation remains ongoing.
