This is going to be a beautiful weekend, are you ready for some fun? We run down the list of the best entertainment here, thanks to our community partners at Tony Langford Roofing, Whiskey River Country Club, and Hot Tails Crawfish!

Okay, we run these down at TexarkanaFYI.com…

If you’ve been thinking about tackling a home project—or just need a little inspiration—the Texarkana Home and Garden Show is happening this Saturday, March 21, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Crossties Event Venue in downtown Texarkana. Hosted by the Texarkana Home Builders Association, this free event brings together local builders, remodelers, and home and garden experts all under one roof. It’s a great chance to explore ideas, meet professionals, and get advice for everything from renovations to landscaping upgrades.

Looking for something a little more adventurous this weekend? The Spring Awakening Viking Festival returns to Dancing Ranch Farms in Fouke March 21 and 22. Now in its fourth year, this family-friendly event brings Norse history to life with live battles, artisan vendors, music, food, and interactive demonstrations. From Highland Games to hands-on experiences for kids and adults, it’s a full weekend of fun, storytelling, and celebration—so feel free to throw on your best Viking gear and join the festivities.

Spring officially shows up in full color at the 58th Annual Jonquil Festival, happening March 20 and 21 at Historic Washington State Park. This long-running tradition features thousands of blooming jonquils, arts and crafts vendors, live entertainment, great food, and a classic car and tractor show on Saturday. With free admission (just a small parking fee), it’s the perfect family outing to enjoy the season, explore local history, and take in one of the most beautiful settings in Southwest Arkansas.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
