It was a great turnout for the 7th Annual Best Salsa in the Ark-La-Tex Contest at the Texarkana Farmer’s Market in downtown Texarkana. We have the final results and see that some contestants appear among winners in a few categories.
The grandparents of a 3-year-old child that was the focus of an Amber Alert issued from Bowie County earlier in July have been arrested and charged with felonies. A warrant has been issued for the child’s mother. All stemming from a child custody case.
The Bowie County Sheriff’s Office is searching for Tradarius Rashad Singleton for multiple felony warrants. Singleton recently wrecked the vehicle he was driving while evading arrest. He was armed with a handgun during his flight from our deputies. He is to be treated as armed and dangerous.
Yesterday we broke a story that the Texarkana Animal Shelter had closed their downstairs area and had issued a “code red” that many animals were going to have to be put down at 5:00 p.m. Thursday July 21. After sharing the story, people came out in droves today to adopt these loving cats and dogs.
The Broken Bow Oklahoma Police Department has release dash-cam footage of the chase and shooting of double murder suspect Andre Johnson who is believed to have murdered his mother and cousin in Horatio Arkansas earlier in the day.
Things have gotten real bad real fast at the Texarkana Animal Shelter. A large number of animals have been scheduled to be euthanized on July 21. Our understanding from a couple of local rescues that were informed of the mass killing at the last minute is the cut-off to save the animals is 5:00 p.m..
Sunday July 31 at 8:00 p.m. the Texarkana community will come together for a Candlelight Vigil on the front steps of the Bi-State Justice Building on Broad Street. Led by city leaders and local pastors Jeff Schreve, Reginald Reid, Derek Murphy, and Bill Saxby in an effort to light the way to peace, love and unity in our area.
Saturday August 20th at the Holiday Springs Waterpark, it is the annual Great Texarkana Duck Race to benefit Christus St. Michael’s Foundation. This year the grand prize is a 2016 Kia Soul Wagon from Classic Kia.
