    Father Accused of Stabbing Son to Death in Bowie County

    Elgin Demoryea Hollignsworth, 49, of Texarkana, Texas has been arrested and charged with murder in the stabbing death of his son, Demoryea Marquise Hollingsworth. The suspect is currently being held in the Bi-State Jail and no bond has been set.

    Armed Man Arrested While Actively Seeking a Police Officer to Ambush

    The Texarkana Texas Police arrested Aaron Swenson, 36, or Texarkana Arkansas after a police chase ended on Highway 82 in Hooks, Texas. Swenson has been charged with Terrorist Threats Against an Officer, Evading Detention with a Vehicle, and Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon. Swenson is currently being held in Bi-State and bond has not been set.

    Updated Texarkana COVID-19 Positive Case Numbers for April 10

    The Texarkana Joint Operations Center on April 10 reported positive case numbers for the Texarkana rising, but slowly. Bowie County reports 41 positive cases, Cass County reports 5 positive cases, and Miller County last reported 20 positive cases for a total of 66 positive cases in the Texarkana region.

    The Texarkana Joint Operations Center reports that positive cases of COVID-19 in our area continue to climb. Officially, Bowie County has 37 cases, Cass County has a total of 5 cases confirmed and 2 recovered, and Miller County has 18, for a total of 60.

    The Texarkana Joint Operations Center reports that the current count of positive COVID-19 cases in Bowie County Texas is 22, with 5 recovered. The number of positive cases registered to Cass County is 4, with 2 recovered. Miller County’s last report was 8, giving a total of 34 positive cases in our area.

    Walmart Stores to Begin Limiting Customers on Saturday April 4

    As we reported on our sister outlet KPGG-FM, Local Walmart stores began taking measures on Friday, April 3 with a “single-file policy” as the stores made preparations for a long-term battle to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Tomorrow, the stores begin limiting the number of customers allowed to shop at one time.
