The Employees and members of Red River Credit Union have gotten together again and made another large donation to the Randy Sam’s Outreach Shelter in downtown Texarkana. Following last year’s urgent call for water, the folks at Red River and the members have donated water and other much-needed items to the shelter again in their continuing efforts.
Neal McCoy will visit Texarkana and perform at Scottie’s Grill this Friday, June 15th.
TTPD has arrested three individuals and charged in the robbery of the Dollar General Store on W. 7th Street. Two individuals were 16 years of age, and the third suspect Jaquaylon James, is 17. The juveniles are being held in a detention center, and James is in custody at the Bi-State Jail.
The Texarkana Texas Police Department is investigating the death of an 88-year-old man that had been gathering aluminum cans after he was struck by a vehicle on Mall Drive. He was transported to the hospital where he died from injuries.
The BCSO has released the following statement on the arrest of Tonya Ruth Barnett (pictured below): Around 5:29 AM on May 24, 2018 a 911 call was received from a distraught female saying she was being assaulted by her husband and she had just shot him. Bowie County deputies dispatched to this shooting found a deceased male lying on the floor of the home when they arrived. Deputies spoke with the female caller who was still at this residence in the 100 block of Parkway. She introduced herself as Tonya Barnett and told deputies the deceased male was her boyfriend…
