The Texarkana Texas Police are investigating a suspicious death of Anthony Ray Mathis, 54, of Texarkana Texas on January 4. His body left in the lobby of Randy Sam’s Homeless Outreach Shelter on Fourth Street.

Corporal Clayton McWilliams was severely injured in a highway crash while responding to a call to an accident involving a log truck on Highway 71. McWilliams has now been transferred to UAMS in Little Rock.
Arkansas State Trooper Clayton McWilliams is being treated at Christus St. Michael Hospital for injuries he received after his vehicle hydro-planed on Highway 71 at the Wilton Arkansas City Limits, his unit left the roadway and struck a tree.

Brian Smith of Texarkana Texas was driving northbound on Kings Highway between 59 & 67 around 9:45 am when he collided with a westbound Union Pacific Train. Smith was transported to St. Michael Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Texarkana Texas Police have arrested a suspect in the theft of a 2018 Ford Expedition from the Arkansas side. The owner accidentally left their garage open overnight on Monday and the vehicle was stolen. Two suspects were arrested on Sunday evening for an attempted armed robbery at the Ellis Pottery store on Summerhill Road. Brandon Staggs, 25, and Toni Works, 34, have been charged with aggravated robbery and are being held at Bi-State with a $100,000 bond.
