Here at the beginning of the Labor Day weekend, some bad news for Arkansas Anglers in Miller County. The extremely invasive Giant Salvinia has made its appearance at Mercer Bayou so the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission has closed the boat ramps for the weekend.

Charles Sprayberry, 42, escaped from the Cass County Jail Monday night after overpowering a male guard and forcing a female jailer to open the door outside. Sprayberry was captured after a car chase Wednesday Morning just south of Moringsport Louisiana.

The Texarkana Arkansas Police report that they made an arrest in an early morning burglary on Boyd Road. The homeowner was not present at the time, but police responded to the alarm and arrested Eric Wherry, 18, of Texarkana, Arkansas.
