The annual Santa Sprint 5K to benefit the Texarkana Museums System will happen at 8:00 am on Saturday, December 18 starting at The Ace of Clubs House. Dress in your favorite Santa Gear and RUN!
Earlier today, a woman in distress was on the 71 viaduct bridge in downtown Texarkana threatening to Jump. TAFD was quick to respond to the scene, but then so did a bunch of other folks.
This is the first time we can recall Texarkana hosting one of these “Slap fights”. On Friday, December 10 at Sling Blades Axe Throwing Company at 2729 New Boston Road in Oaklawn Village. There are some participants that are going to be throwing smacks so hard that all in attendance will feel it!
Most folks from this area, especially the Texas side of Stateline Avenue and a whole lot of Bowie County are sorta used to hearing those big booms. The generic answer is usually “Red River”, but that’s not always the case.
National recording artists “The Eli Young Band” has been touring the country opening for acts like Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, and others, but is making a stop in Texarkana, Arkansas this Friday night, December 3, 2021. Ryan Matthew opens the show!
The 2021 Downtown Texarkana Christmas Parade takes place on Monday, December 6 and you can watch all of the floats, bands, participants, and such, including Santa, who will be at the Christmas Tree Forest next to Crossties afterward to meet all the good girls and boys.
We were lucky enough to catch up with Santa Claus himself in downtown Texarkana as he was checking on the progress of this year’s Christmas Tree Forest at Crossties. Here he shares his message for the kids in Texarkana.

Patriotic Americans love the Flag that represents our Nation. We have great respect for our National Colors and those that have devoted, or even sacrificed their lives under them. If your flag has become too worn, or tattered, Saturday, December 6 is a chance to dispose of it properly, and respectfully.
Not everybody does the homemade dinner thing on Thanksgiving. Some are traveling through, some may have loved ones in the hospital, some may be lonely, and some may just not want to cook. So, some Texarkana restaurants will be open for you this Thanksgiving.
