    TEXARKANA, TX— In accordance with Governor Greg Abbot’s disaster proclamation, Bowie County Judge Bobby Howell and Texarkana, Texas Mayor Bob Bruggeman issued a disaster proclamation today, August 26, 2020, declaring a local state of disaster for Bowie County and the City of Texarkana, Texas certifying that Hurricane Laura poses a threat of imminent disaster including widespread and severe property damage, injury, and loss of life due to widespread flooding and damaging winds.

    These are the latest COVID 19 numbers released by our local health authorities. Bowie County reports a total of 923 positive COVID-19 cases, with 419 recoveries and 62 deaths. Cass County has a total of 227 cases with 178 recovered and 9 deaths. Miller County reports a total of 572 positive cases, 527 recoveries and 5 deaths.     Third Suspect Arrested in Craig Garner Murder Case

    The Texarkana Texas Police Department has arrested Kentraile Collins, 17, and charged him with Capital Murder in the shooting death of Craig Garner. Collins is being held in the Bi-State Jail with a $1 million bond.
