Letters, photos, and treasures of all sorts were placed in a time capsule and buried in front of the Texarkana Federal Post Office in 1973. Now that they have opened it, you can see the many items on display at the Texarkana Museum during the Texarkana Sesquicentennial Festival on Saturday, April 15, 2023.

Time again for Scout-o-rama 2023 at Spring Lake Park in Texarkana, Texas. The event is scheduled for Friday, April 28 thru Sunday, April 30. The event is free for spectators of all ages on Saturday, April 29 from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm, and there will be something there to excite every member of the family.
The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana is hosting open registration for 2023 Summer and Fall classes at both Campuses. Summer I and online summer classes begin June 5, summer II classes start July 5, and fall classes begin August 23. The first, of what will be an annual event for the area, “Great Texarkana Balloon Blow-up” at Lake Wright Patman with Hot Air Balloon enthusiasts from all over took place this morning. The event is being touted as a success even though spectator turnout for the event was low.

Texarkana officials from both sides of Stateline Avenue came together to discuss the recent overdose deaths in the Texarkana area from tainted synthetic marijuana. There have been 7 deaths related to what authorities believe is synthetic marijuana tainted with an illegal psychoactive synthetic chemical that can kill you with one dose.
