On April 29 we posted that there had been a vehicle fire in Maud Texas where passengers were trapped in the vehicle. We were not on scene for this occurrence and the information that we had gotten was not accurate. Fire and EMT personal were on scene. There was a vehicle fire and the wife of the man injured on scene has given us an account of what happened. Cheryl Nunn tells us that Jimmy Nunn (her husband) was replacing a fuel pump on their truck and his light bulb shattered causing a spark that ignited a fire underneath the truck…

5-1-2015 | Approx 7:45 p.m. An accident called in as a major accident on Hwy 59 at the Bowie County Line and the there was a small child in the vehicle. First responders arrived on scene and confirmed that no one was seriously injured. The Texas State Trooper on scene told me that the man driving looked back to check on the child for just a second and veered into the barrier that is part of the construction disabling the vehicle. 5-1-2015 | Approx 2:00 p.m. Lifenet, LEVFD, and Texas State troopers were on scene for a single vehicle accident that sent one man to the hospital in critical condition. An eye witness to this accident said that he watched the white pickup truck move through the intersection at what appeared to be about 35 MPH. As the truck passed by he noticed the driver looked dazed and slightly slumped over. He also stated that the driver of the truck missed several other vehicles as he passed through the intersection and then veered to the right crashing into the light pole.…

At approximately 4:15 p.m. today a vehicle fire was reported out of Maud Texas. It has been reported that 5 passengers we’re trapped inside the vehicle as it burned and at least one person sustained several severe burns and has been transported to the hospital. This is all the information we have at this time.

4-29-2015 | Approx 10:30 a.m. Lifenet and TTPD respond to an injury accident at 40th and Colorado. One of the individuals involved had outstanding warrants for deadly conduct. The extent of the injuries in this accident are unknown at this time. Photos below courtesy of Tad Phillips:

4-29-2015 | Lifenet and Bowie County Sheriff’s Dept responded to Red Water High School about 9:30 a.m. for two students who were unresponsive. When the initial call came over, the responding EMT unit was advised that this was a possible drug overdose. Both students were taken to the hospital via ambulance with family members following behind. At the time of transport, both students had gained consciousness. Kathy Allen, superintendent, did not confirm nor deny the possibility of drug overdose. She stated that there would be an investigation and that she would share the results when they knew more about what…

April 28 at approximately 8 p.m. Texarkana Texas police department and life net responded to Lowes on Walton Drive for an apparent shooting that has just occurred. After speaking with an officer on scene i have learned that this was a case of an elderly man’s fire arm went off and resulted in a self inflicted gunshot wound.

I recently visited the new Walmart Neighborhood Market to find out the difference between it and the Walmart Super Center. Here’s what I found: Just like the Walmart Super Center, the Walmart Neighborhood Market is open 24 hours. You can still get your fresh produce, general grocery items, baked goods, meats and other delicious edibles. There’s also a pharmacy to fill prescriptions and grab needed toiletries. You can also pick up other household cleaning supplies like laundry detergent. And of course, a friendly face to greet you at the check out lane.
