Here are the latest numbers released by our local health authorities. There are currently 604 active cases in Bowie County. Cass County reports 67 active cases. Miller County has 170 active cases.
Timothy Paul Wilder, 62, of Texarkana Texas pleaded guilty to four counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14 today in a New Boston Texas courtroom. A total of six victims have come forward in the case. Wilder will receive 50 years in prison with no possibility of parole.
Currently, with hospitals in the Texarkana area stretched to the limits, there are 592 active cases of COVID 19 in Bowie County. From now through January 12, 2021, registration for spring classes at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana is underway. Classes are planned to begin on Wednesday, January 11, 2021.
Officers with the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department, along with T.T.P.D., Miller County, A.P.D., and Homeland Security, recently conducted vice operations on North Stateline Avenue, which resulted in 29 arrests on charges from drugs, weapons, prostitution, and more.
