Ronald Wright, 56, and Rendy Wright, 39 of Hooks Texas have been arrested, and the couple faces charges of abandoning or endangering a child and could face 2 to 10 years. The couple is accused of locking their 7-year-old son out of their home because they claim he is possessed by demons.
Bonds have been set for Bryan Lee Batchelor, 48, of Bowie County on three charges of Aggravated Assault Against a Public Servant at $1,000,000 each and another $50,000 for Evading Arrest in a Vehicle.
T.T.P.D. has arrested Michael Bryant, 64, of Texarkana Texas, for Animal Cruelty charges after witnesses reported him abusing a small kitten. The kitten is expected to recover.
Time for the annual running of the K.C.S. Railroad’s “Holiday Express”. The six-car train carrying Santa and his Elves will swing through the Ark-La-Tex again in 2017, but the closest stop to Texarkana is in Ashdown on December 6.

The Texarkana Texas Police Department is now registering neighborhoods for National Night Out on October 3, 2017. Those wishing to have police officers and representatives from other City departments attend their neighborhood party are asked to register before September 29.
The KLFI-TV Game of the Week for week 3 of the 2017 season was another crosstown rivalry between Texas High and Liberty Eylau High School. The battle between the Tigers and the Leopards ended with a Texas High victory 37 – 23.
The Bowie County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Bryan Lee Batchelor, 48, and he has been charged with 3 counts of Aggravated Assault Against a Public Servant and evading arrest. Batchelor allegedly injured two deputies with gunfire, and rammed multiple vehicles before being taken into custody.
Deputies with the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office have been treated and released from area hospitals after being shot while responding to a house fire overnight in DeKalb, Texas. The suspect is in custody. Chief Deputy Jeff Neal gave us the details.
