The United Way of Greater Texarkana’s first annual Battle on The Border & Chili Cook-off will take place on Saturday, October 7 at Spring Lake Park from noon to 8:00 pm. This will be a huge battle of the bands contest and an East Texas-sized Chili Cook-off.
The tragic accident involving a log truck and a car at the intersection of Lake Drive and Buchanan Road has now claimed a second life. Norma and Lawrence Ware of Atlanta Texas, have died from injuries they received in the crash.

Bonds have been set for Bryan Lee Batchelor, 48, of Bowie County on three charges of Aggravated Assault Against a Public Servant at $1,000,000 each and another $50,000 for Evading Arrest in a Vehicle.
