Deputies with the Miller County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two men in connection to thefts that occurred at the Richardson Waste Transfer station near Miller County Road 10. Jordan Hensley, 27, and Brandon Burns, 23 have both been charged with Commercial Burglary, Breaking or Entering and Theft of Property.
The Texarkana Texas Police Department has released statistics on arrests in the month of March 2017. The report shows that out of 378 adult arrests in on 67 were first time offenders and 311 had been arrested previously.
Texas A&M University-Texarkana will be hosting a “Teacher Career Fair” with over 20 prospective employers from area educational organizations. Make plans to attend the event to be held on Wednesday, April 5 on the first floor of Eagle Hall.
The Annual Songwriters on the Edge of Texas event takes place at Northridge Country Club on Sunday, April 9, 2017. This year’s headlining act is the talented and highly acclaimed songwriter, James McMurtry.
The University of Arkansas has some workshops scheduled for 8th thru 11th-grade students for the Texarkana campus May 30 thru June 2. Space is limited and deadline to apply is April 28.
A fantastic summer program for kids, Camp Save-a-Life gives children an opportunity to shadow medical professionals. Registration is first come, first served and the maximum number of spaces available in each camp is 20 students.
A group of Texarkana residents were rescued by Arkansas Game & Fish agents over the weekend after the group of adults and children spent the night stuck in their boats stranded on a sandbar where Little River feeds into Red River.
The first, of what will be an annual event for the area, “Great Texarkana Balloon Blow-up” at Lake Wright Patman with Hot Air Balloon enthusiasts from all over the world took place this morning. The event is being touted as a success even though spectator turn-out for the event was low.
It is our honor to name Cody Howard as our Wadley Regional Medical Center Hometown Hero for April of 2017. Cody is the founder and pastor of “Church Under the Bridge”. Howard has recently been named the executive director of Texarkana Friendship Center, Inc.
