The Arkansas Community Corrections Special Response Team has captured their number one most wanted fugitive in Texarkana. Tomango Kelly, 41, is a convicted murderer that absconded parole in October of 2017. He was tracked to Texarkana, where he was taken into custody.

HOPE, AR – December 15, 2017 – The University of Arkansas Texarkana recently celebrated the pinning of the first Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) class from the Evening LPN Program at Texarkana. Eleven students received their nursing pins at the ceremony held at Hempstead Hall on the Hope campus.

On Monday, December 14, TTPD released information that they had felony arrest warrants for five Pleasant Grove Junior High students involved in an assault that occurred on a school bus while returning from a basketball game in Paris on November 30. Shortly after, Police released another statement announcing the delay of service of the warrants due to new information in the investigation.

One person was injured this afternoon in an accident involving a Lifenet Ambulance that was responding to an assistance call at the time and was occupied by two crew members. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to a local hospital and the accident is under investigation.

Law Enforcement officers in Hempstead County Arkansas have made an arrest that resulted in the confiscation of drugs, cash, and a lot of guns. James Anderson, 32, of Illinois was arrested and charged with Careless and Prohibited Driving, Disobeying a Stop Sign, No Headlights, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, Possession of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), and Possession of Controlled Substance (Marijuana).

Time for the 19th Annual Bramlett Beans & Cornbread event at Southwest Center in Texarkana on Thursday, December 7, 2017, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.  All proceeds from the event will benefit the Christmas Basket program, a volunteer effort by the Cities of Texarkana, Texas and Texarkana, Arkansas and Texarkana Water Utilities that provides holiday food for families in need who reside in the Texarkana area.
