Results are in, and the Miller County Sheriff’s race will be going to a runoff between candidates Stephen D. Ward with 1,894 votes against 1,620 votes for Wayne Easley. The runoff date is set for June 21.
The Texarkana Texas Police Department credits two local good samaritans for intervening in an incident that helped an elderly woman that was being attacked. Police arrested Brent Wohrer, 49, of Lancaster, Ohio and he faces multiple charges.

The Bowie County Sheriff’s Office reports that Erik Scott Shirley, 28, was arrested and booked into the Bi-State Jail for Criminal Mischief over $2,500 and Under $30,000 after driving his pickup truck into a swimming pool. The homeowner held him at gunpoint until law enforcement arrived.

Texarkana Arkansas Police have arrested Patrick Ardwin, 34, from Ashdown, Arkansas, in a stabbing incident on North Stateline Avenue. Ardwin is charged with Battery in the 2nd Degree. Mr. Ardwin was transported to the Miller County Jail and booked.

The Miller County Sheriff’s Office reports that two suspects in a rash of burglaries have been arrested and they are currently searching for a third suspect, Charles Damon Ziska. If you have any information on this case contact 870.774.3001.
TTPD has released more information on the arrest of a capital murder suspect, Kevonte Collins. Collins was captured on Monday, May 2 in DeSoto, Texas. The suspect will be transported back to Texarkana to face charges.
