Texarkana Texas Firefighters responded to a house fire on Olive Street Sunday morning around 7:00 a.m., firefighters entered the burning home and quickly located a resident trapped inside. Lifenet transported the resident to a local hospital.
Texarkana Police responded to a home on Robinhood Lane near Charlotte Street after receiving reports from the resident’s mother that she was on the phone with him and heard gunshots. Officers when to the man’s door and knocked and got no response, as they were knocking again a gunshot rang out from inside the door.

Richard “Dick” Hanson, 68, of Butte La Rose Louisiana was found dead in his home. Three people are behind bars and charged with his murder. Dick Hanson was the carnival vendor and promoter of multiple events at the Four States Fairgrounds for decades.
The images are disturbing and heartbreaking as inmate Michael Sabbie, 35, pleads with corrections officers at the Bi-State Jail in Texarkana for help. Sabbie repeatedly begs for help saying that he cannot breathe. The video is getting national attention as it has now been posted by the Huffington Post.

The Texarkana Arkansas Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred overnight at the intersection of East 10th and California Streets that left one man dead, and a woman in custody facing murder charges.
The Texarkana Texas Police Department is searching for the Wilmer Hill, 21, the father of a baby that was the center of a “Critical Missing Persons Alert” issued by the TTPD. The baby has been found safe and returned to her mother at this time. Police are continuing the search for Hill at this time.
UPDATE: MISSING BABY RECOVERED AND RETURNED TO MOTHER. The missing baby is from the case yesterday where the father of the child led officers on a high-speed pursuit that resulted in the SUV the father was driving crashing. The father of the child, Wilmer Hill, 21, fled into the woods from the scene of the crash.

The 2016 Four States Invitational Marching Contest was held on October 1 at Grim Stadium in Grim Park. The Texarkana Independent School district hosted 22 bands and more than 3,800 students to perform in the annual contest. We have the results including one local school winning the title “Best Band”!

Local hunter Josh Thomson of Ashdown Arkansas one of only 68 people to receive a permit from the State of Arkansas to harvest an alligator in 2016. Hunting dates for 2016 have been limited to September 16 to 19, and September 23 to 26. Thomson bagged his 12-foot 1-inch gator on the night of September 24.
