After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.

Yesterday we broke a story that the Texarkana Animal Shelter had closed their downstairs area and had issued a “code red” that many animals were going to have to be put down at 5:00 p.m. Thursday July 21. After sharing the story, people came out in droves today to adopt these loving cats and dogs.

Sunday July 31 at 8:00 p.m. the Texarkana community will come together for a Candlelight Vigil on the front steps of the Bi-State Justice Building on Broad Street. Led by city leaders and local pastors Jeff Schreve, Reginald Reid, Derek Murphy, and Bill Saxby in an effort to light the way to peace, love and unity in our area.

T.T.P.D. K-9 officer “Boston” tracked a suspect down in a field after the suspect fled from a stolen vehicle. The suspect turned into the Arista Apartments and abandoned the stolen vehicle he was driving and it rolled into a couple of parked cars before running across a field.
