The 6th Annual Gifts Galore & So Much More Holiday Expo highlighting local businesses will take place on “Small Business Saturday” November 27 at the Texarkana Texas Convention Center.

Here is a chance to help support the Southwest Arkansas Counseling and Mental Health, INC., Therapeutic Foster Care programs, have some great food, craft beer, and fun at Pecan Point. Funds raised will be used for the Therapeutic Foster Care Christmas Party that is held annually for the foster children in their care.

The “2021 Dwight Nevill Memorial Christmas Fun Toy Run” happens on Saturday, December 11, 2021. We have the details with the organizer, and friend, Al Green. This year as many as 500 motorcycles are expected for the parade through Texarkana.

The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana is offering a new Certificate of Proficiency in Solar Energy Technology program. The solar energy student lab is under construction now, and the certificate program begins this spring at the UA Hope campus.

The 33rd annual Texarkana Area Veterans Council “Veterans Day Parade” took place at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 13. It was a bit cold and windy, also the first day of deer season in Arkansas, so spectator turnout was sparse, but a huge thank you to all of the people that came out to participate.

We had a chance to talk with Greg Beck about this weekend’s Veterans Day Parade in downtown Texarkana. Focus this year on the Afghanistan Veterans and hope to see some growth with our VFW… here’s why.

TTPD arrested and charged Brennen Brown, 20, with Injury to an Elderly/Disabled Person with Intentional Bodily Injury and Aggravated Kidnapping with a Deadly Weapon. He is accused of assaulting his grandmother and girlfriend. He has a total bond of $350,000.

The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department reports that the Bi-State 8th South District Drug Task Force in partnership with the FBI and Homeland Security conducted a narcotics search warrant in the 2200 block of Pecan Street. The warrant led to the seizure of 1.49 lbs of suspected Meth, 7.5 grams of suspected cocaine, multiple weapons, and approximately $14,000.00 in cash.

Local authorities are searching for an inmate that escaped from the Bi-State Jail overnight. Kylon Chevon Clark, 20, of Hooks, Texas was able to escape during a jail transfer around 3:00 am on Wednesday.

Weird to me… Concerts, love’em, easy to promote. Parades, everybody loves them. Difficult to promote male strippers and sound that enthused about it… but the ladies seem to love good looks, and muscles, especially when they are still where they are supposed to be, I guess.

Jabaurri Martin, 23, of Houston, Texas had been pulled over by state police about 12:30 PM along U.S. Highway 67 north of Texarkana. Martin was driving a truck stolen earlier in Texas. While in the back of an ASP vehicle in cuffs, Martin was able to steal the police vehicle.

Growing each month, the Second Saturday Trade Days at the Historic 1894 Gallery is happening this month on Saturday, November 13. Arts, Crafts, Vendors, and more in downtown on Olive Street this Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm.

The Texarkana Texas Police Department has arrested a second suspect in the mass shooting at Octavia’s Event Center on Halloween night that left one dead, and 9 injured. Andre Morine, 24, of Texarkana, Arkansas, was involved in the shooting and is facing murder charges.

It is going to be another pretty weekend in Texarkana, and again there is always something fun to do. We run down a few of the local events happening this weekend and live music around town.

The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana is now open for Spring 2022 registration. They’ve got some great programs to get you on the fast track to a career as a teacher, some new technical certificate and degree programs, and more.

The Bowie County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that 3 people died in a fiery explosion inside a barn in Bowie County. The three victims were identified as Steven Granbery, 60 years of age, Cynthia Granbery 55 years of age, and William Barnes 65 years of age, all of Simms, Texas.

The Texarkana Texas Police Department reports that Keuntae McElroy, 21, has now been officially charged with one count of murder, and nine counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Bond is set at almost $2,000,000.

The Texarkana Community Ballet will present the 30th Anniversary of the Nutcracker Ballet on Friday, December 3, Saturday, December 4, and Sunday, December 5, 2021. Tickets are on sale now.

The Texarkana Texas Police have identified the victim in a fatal shooting at a Texarkana Halloween party as Javon Gooden, of Texarkana, Texas. Injured victims range in age from 15 to 23 years old. Keuntae McElroy, 21, of Texarkana, Arkansas is facing a charge of Murder and nine charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

There is so much history in the Ark-La-Tex, and much of it is displayed by reenactors through programs at the Historic Old Washington Park. Coming up November 5, 2021, it is a day of reenactment of a “Town in Conflict”.

Texarkana Texas Police report that Keuntae McElroy, 21, of Texarkana Arkansas turned himself in to police for the shooting incident at the Halloween Party that was being held at Octavia’s Event Center Saturday night.

Sunday, October 31 has a number of “Trunk or Treat” events scheduled at local churches, these are the ones we got notifications for in Texarkana, plus you still got “Trick or Treating”.

The Texarkana Texas Police Department has provided us with more details about the mass shooting at a Halloween Event at Octavia’s Event Center on Texas Boulevard. One 20-year-old man has died from his wounds.

Updated Information – https://bit.ly/3w06R19 Texarkana Texas Police Report that at least nine people were shot at a Halloween Party just after midnight on October 31. One of the victims is reported in critical condition.
