For the 15th year, the UofA Foundation is putting on their annual Beads, Bags, & Bangles to raise money for the annual Kid’s College programs on Thursday, February 3.

Congratulations to Captain Bobby Jordan on his successful completion of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA. Captain Jordan is part of the 280th session and consisted of 128 law enforcement officers, men, and women from 41 states and the District of Columbia.

The series of “Planes, Trains, & Automobiles” will be featured in the month of January 2022 at the Texarkana Museum of Regional History. We have the schedule here.

The Atlanta Texas Police Department reports that the escapee from the Federal Prison in Texarkana has been captured by APD officers and is being booked into the Cass County Jail at this time. Ramon Benjamin Fernandez, 29 is now back in custody.

Texarkana Texas Police are investigating a shooting on Wade Lane that left one man dead, and a woman was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The victims were discovered when a child got home from school and was unable to get into the house.

Charges against Chris Basham, 34, have been upgraded to include Murder after the victim in the shooting, Donald Hayworth, 38, died from his injuries on Tuesday, December 14. Basham had been released on a $250,000 bond but is now back in Miller County custody.

The Texarkana Texas Police have released the identities of the murder victims in the 13th Street shooting at the Oaks at Rosehill apartment complex. The men are identified as Deangelo Handy and Rikolah Young, both 18, and of Texarkana, Texas. A 17-year-old is still in critical condition.
