Chris Basham, 34, or Texarkana was arrested and booked into the Miller County Detention Center on a charge of Battery 1 st degree, a Class B Felony. Basham is accused of shooting Donald Hayworth Jr., 38, of Miller County on Line Ferry earlier today.
This Friday, December 10, and Saturday, December 11 it is live arts with “Friday Night Live” at the 1894 Gallery, and the last “Second Saturday Trade Day” downtown for 2021, and a great opportunity to meet some of our local crafters and vendors.
The Texarkana Arkansas apprehended a fugitive out of Monroe, Louisiana suspected of Murder. Christopher Williams, 23, from West Monroe, Louisiana is wanted for Attempted 2nd Degree Murder from Ouachita Parish.
We made a quick stop by the First Assembly of God Church-Lighthouse Ministries on 7th Street in Texarkana Texas as dozens were working hard to build the set for this weekend’s Drive-thru Live Nativity. It’s a free event, and one of the most popular in the Ark-La-Tex!
This Saturday, December 11, the second annual “Cowboy Christmas Ball” will take place at the Four States Fairgrounds inside the Ag Learning Center. Dinner, drinks, the Dusty Rose Band, and more.
A cold front moved thru early Monday morning clearing the way for great parade weather on Broad Street in downtown Texarkana. With almost 100 entries, the theme was “The 12 Days of Christmas” and fun and joy were had by all.

We just LOVE the Drive-thru Live Nativity that they do at First Assembly of God Church on W. 7th Street. Hundreds of people in costumes, animals of all sizes and sorts, and of course the whole reason for the season! There will be three presentations, don’t miss them!
A fantastic family Christmas tradition for a lot of us is the beautiful look of Historic Washington State Park for Christmas. Tours and lots of entertainment are set for Friday, December 10, and Saturday, December 11.
Lots to do in Texarkana this weekend, there’s the Farmers Bank & Trust Live United Bowl and events around that, the AQHA Quarter Horse show is at the Fairgrounds this weekend, and some fantastic live music!
Saturday, December 4 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm it is the 5th Annual “Bark in the Park” event at the Kylee Sullivan Dog Park, inside Spring Lake Park. Free Rabies vaccinations, city registrations, and more!
The annual Santa Sprint 5K to benefit the Texarkana Museums System will happen at 8:00 am on Saturday, December 18 starting at The Ace of Clubs House. Dress in your favorite Santa Gear and RUN!
Earlier today, a woman in distress was on the 71 viaduct bridge in downtown Texarkana threatening to Jump. TAFD was quick to respond to the scene, but then so did a bunch of other folks.
This is the first time we can recall Texarkana hosting one of these “Slap fights”. On Friday, December 10 at Sling Blades Axe Throwing Company at 2729 New Boston Road in Oaklawn Village. There are some participants that are going to be throwing smacks so hard that all in attendance will feel it!

Due to some safety concerns, the 2021 Main Street Texarkana Christmas parade will now run the length of Broad Street to a right on Texas Boulevard, up to a right on 4th Street, then straight down 4th, and end in front of Commercial National Bank just past 4th and Wood.

The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department has identified the remains found in the drainage ditch near the EZ Mart Store on Jefferson Avenue and Arkansas Boulevard as Judy Martin, 55, of Texarkana, Arkansas. An investigation into her death continues.

On Saturday, December 11, the KLFI-TV Showcase features a day full of family entertainment in downtown Texarkana with a Street Party at 4th and Wood Streets. Pro-wrestling, live music, huge cosplay contests, food trucks, and a lot more.
For me, last year’s Christmas Tree Challenge in downtown Texarkana was a real highlight for the season, and this year is going to be even bigger and better with a lot more trees. So everybody that was disappointed last year because it was sold out… GET YOUR TREE NOW!
Saturday, December 4 the Live United Bowl, sponsored by Farmers Bank, will be played at Razorback Stadium and feature the SE Oklahoma State University Bulldogs taking on the Emporia State University Hornets. This is by far the largest sporting event in our area, don’t miss it!
