The Wynn-Price Plantation Society will be hosting a primitive Civil War Living History Camp June 2 – 4 at the Historic Wynn-Price Plantation grounds in Garland Arkansas. The camp will feature living history demonstrations and this year is the first that the reenactment community has been invited for demonstrations throughout the weekend.

The Texarkana Texas Police Department is seeking information on Michael Gray, 19, of Texarkana Texas. No charges have been filed on Gray in the shooting death of Drake Griffith, 18, but police believe he may have critical information important to the investigation.

Movies in the Park return this Thursday, May 18 with the Disney Pixar feature “Finding Dory”. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets, and some skeeter spray, and enjoy the summer Movies in the Park series. The City of Texarkana Parks and Recreation Department will host the series at Spring Lake Park. Movies will start usually between 7:45 pm and 8:00 pm. This summer season is an animation celebration. The Texarkana Texas Police are investigating an overnight shooting that claimed the life of Drake Griffith, 18, of Texarkana. Investigators believe it was a robbery attempt gone bad. One robbery suspect is still on the loose, and one resident of the home has been arrested and charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Marijuana.

The Texarkana Arkansas Fire Department responded to a structure fire Saturday night at 4423 E. Broad just before midnight. At first, firefighters believed that a person was still inside, but it was discovered the man had made it out of the building but was seriously burned and suffered smoke inhalation. Richard Vanderbilt, age 65, of Texarkana died from his injuries on Sunday afternoon.

The focus of the training was in the planning and carrying out of high-risk arrest operations ranging from hostage rescues to barricaded persons and other scenarios.
