After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.

Social media and mouths are running on overdrive with rumors of planned “Black Lives Matter” protests in Texarkana, but that’s all it is, rumors. There has been nobody to even apply for a special event permit, much less drawn one on either side of Stateline Avenue. However, Police have addressed the rumors.

For many in our area, “The Blue Hole” near Albert Pike is a very popular place to hangout with friends and cool off in the baby blue water of the old Barite Mine in Montgomery County. Just because it can be a lot of fun, do not forget just how dangerous nature can be. Recently a local girl was injured in a jump from the cliffs into the cool water almost 40 feet below when she hit the rocks.
