It is the largest fundraising event for our local Randy Sam’s Outreach Shelter and takes place Thursday, April 20 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and as the many that support the annual “Cigars, ‘Tinis & Tunes” event will tell you, it is definitely one of the most fun events held in downtown Texarkana.

The Texarkana Texas Police Department has arrested the suspect in the Wednesday morning robbery of Bank of the Ozarks on Richmond Road. Dixon Kelly, 43, of Texarkana Arkansas is in custody and charged with Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Assault on a Public Servant, Resisting Arrest and Evading Arrest in a Vehicle.

Deputies with the Miller County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two men in connection to thefts that occurred at the Richardson Waste Transfer station near Miller County Road 10. Jordan Hensley, 27, and Brandon Burns, 23 have both been charged with Commercial Burglary, Breaking or Entering and Theft of Property.
The Texarkana Texas Police Department has released statistics on arrests in the month of March 2017. The report shows that out of 378 adult arrests in on 67 were first time offenders and 311 had been arrested previously.

A group of Texarkana residents were rescued by Arkansas Game & Fish agents over the weekend after the group of adults and children spent the night stuck in their boats stranded on a sandbar where Little River feeds into Red River.

Investigators with the Miller County Sherrif’s Office are investigating a string of recent thefts in the area near County Road 10. A few suspects have already been identified and arrests are pending, but investigators are seeking information from the public.

The Texarkana Texas Health Department has pulled the food service permit from the Dixie Diner restaurant at the Nash exit off of I-30 located at 4115 N. Kings Highway. The restaurant will remain closed until they are able to pass a re-inspection at a later date.
