Spring Lake Park in Texarkana Texas celebrates a significant anniversary in 2016. Officially opened to the general public on May 21, 1916, Spring Lake Park has been Texarkana’s favorite park for 100 years.

The Texarkana Texas Police Department was called to respond to a woman’s call on Dan Haskin’s Drive that her car had been swarmed by bees. T.T.P.D. had to call a beekeeper to have the swarm removed.

A big reason that it is taking a while to get power restored to some areas after Monday’s storms is that several high voltage line towers north of New Boston, Texas were destroyed. Crews have been working night and day to repair the damages and restore electricity to residents.

The signal lights at the intersection of Hwy. 59 and Loop 151 are in flashing mode due to damage from an overnight car accident that took out one of the signal light systems. Authorities say it could be up to two weeks before the signal lights at the intersection are repaired.
