The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department have updated the public on the investigation into the school shooting threat that began to spread via social media yesterday afternoon.

Texas A&M University – Texarkana has released the names of students named to the President’s Honors and University Honors list for the 2016 Spring semester. Both lists are for students enrolled for 9 credit hours or more.

These are suspects from the undercover meth bust early Tuesday May 17. There are five people with outstanding warrants from the joint operation. Do you recognize any of these people?

The Texarkana Texas Police have arrested two people from the shooting/stabbing at the Westlawn Apartments across the street from Westlawn Elementary School.

Spring Lake Park in Texarkana Texas celebrates a significant anniversary in 2016. Officially opened to the general public on May 21, 1916, Spring Lake Park has been Texarkana’s favorite park for 100 years.

The Texarkana Texas Police Department was called to respond to a woman’s call on Dan Haskin’s Drive that her car had been swarmed by bees. T.T.P.D. had to call a beekeeper to have the swarm removed.

A big reason that it is taking a while to get power restored to some areas after Monday’s storms is that several high voltage line towers north of New Boston, Texas were destroyed. Crews have been working night and day to repair the damages and restore electricity to residents.

The signal lights at the intersection of Hwy. 59 and Loop 151 are in flashing mode due to damage from an overnight car accident that took out one of the signal light systems. Authorities say it could be up to two weeks before the signal lights at the intersection are repaired.

This year the Sparks in the Park Independence Day Fireworks Show will be held almost 10 days before the Fourth of July on Saturday June 25 at the Four States Fairgrounds in Texarkana.

Carl Finch, Texarkana Native and founder of the Grammy Award winning Polka group “Brave Combo”, is a 1970 graduate of Texas High, and a new member of the International Polka Hall of Fame.

The 8th Annual Peace Officers’ Memorial Ceremony was held this morning at the Sullivan Arts Center. Area law enforcement officers and supporters gathered to honor those officers that were lost in 2015.

The National Weather Service has surveyed damages from Monday nights storms across east Texas. Per the NWS assessment the damages here in Texarkana ware most likely from straight line winds.

The Texarkana Arkansas Police Departmen has partnered with Texas A&M University – Texarkana to host an Extreme Youth Leadership Camp this summer, July 10 to 13 

Lifenet Inc. has posted some aerial video of the storm damage trail stretching from Hooks, TX. to Nash, TX. and the Pleasant Grove area that they shot from their helicopter.

Texas A&M University – Texarkana has rescheduled testing that was not done on Tuesday May 10 because of closure due to power outages from the storms that struck the area Monday night.

Thunderstorms raced across the Ark-La-Tex late Monday night causing major damage in many places around the Texarkana area, including an 18 wheeler overturned by wind, Tree damage, Power outages and more.

The westbound I-30 exit for Pleasant Grove Road and Kings Highway (exit 218) is scheduled to be closed for about four hours on Tuesday afternoon starting at noon. TxDOT is going to examine the existing under-drain near the ramp.
