The Texarkana Texas Police Department has arrested a Little Rock, Arkansas couple at a local convenience store after OnStar called and reported that they were tracking a stolen vehicle.

TTPD conducted a traffic stop that resulted in the arrests of Wyndel Shepherd, Jr., 26, and Jalen Nix, 17, for numerous drug charges following a traffic stop Sunday night. A judge set bond for each of the men at a total of $181,000.
The Employees and members of Red River Credit Union have gotten together again and made another large donation to the Randy Sam’s Outreach Shelter in downtown Texarkana. Following last year’s urgent call for water, the folks at Red River and the members have donated water and other much-needed items to the shelter again in their continuing efforts.

TTPD has arrested three individuals and charged in the robbery of the Dollar General Store on W. 7th Street. Two individuals were 16 years of age, and the third suspect Jaquaylon James, is 17. The juveniles are being held in a detention center, and James is in custody at the Bi-State Jail.
The Texarkana Texas Police Department is investigating the death of an 88-year-old man that had been gathering aluminum cans after he was struck by a vehicle on Mall Drive. He was transported to the hospital where he died from injuries.

A Bowie County Grand Jury has indicted Toddrick Eugene Matthews, 39, for the murder of his fiancé, Sonjha Banks, on 5-24-2018. Texas Rangers conducted surveillance on Matthews’ DFW area residence and subsequently arrested him on 5-25-2018. He is being held in the Dallas County Jail and is awaiting transport to the Bowie County Jail.
The Bowie County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of Cecil Ellis Jr. in an overnight shooting. Mr. Ellis was allegedly shot by his girlfriend, Tonya Barnett, in a case of self-defense.

Miller County Investigators have made two arrests in a recent horse theft case. Press Release: On Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at approximately 8am, Miller County Deputies responded to Fouke in reference to the theft of three horses. A TTPD Officer was injured overnight when Jaroy Simpson attempted to escape the scene of a traffic stop. The officer suffered cuts and scratches to his hands and legs from being dragged a short distance. He was treated for the injuries at the scene.
The Bowie County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Chance Wayne Duck and Alicia Kaye Braley for possession of over 400 grams of methamphetamine. They were both transported to the Bi-State Jail where they were booked in.

Miller County Deputies have arrested Michael Wade McBride, 26, of Texarkana Arkansas and booked him into the Miller County Detention Center on a charge of residential burglary. Deputies were able to track McBride down because he dropped his cell phone while fleeing from the scene.
